Man vs. Vegas

There is a TV show that we are involved on. It airs on CMT (Country Music Television) tomorrow:

Man vs. Vegas

I've seen the pilot months ago. It surprised me on how entertaining and energetic Darrin (the lead, creator and exec producer) can be on camera. It is a very well produced reality program.

We have watched the first episode - I should say it wasn't impressive! First there were no sigarette smoke - nobody smoked even in the background... now if anybody out there ever been to Vegas knows that your clothes smell like smoke even after washing them several times weeks after your vacation is over. Everone smokes everywhere in Vegas. If there is a designated non-smoking area - it still smells like smoke... Anyways, it didn't look like Vegas and it didn't feel like Vegas.

Besides the word of caution to everybody - this guy will never win his money back due to simple mathemtical odds (also called statistics). Each game is setup to give the Casino around 2% of all money spent on the floor. So don't pull out your million and head to Vegas - THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY. It would be the most exapnsive "comped" polo shirt you will ever own...

The ability to spell doesn't make a person smart, doesn't it? In addition, YELLING AT THE POST IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS is just rude. If we were discussing spelling - your post would have been relevant, otherwise thanks for pointing out my spelling errors. The next time, I will use a spell check tool to ensure I spell correctly. Just to point out, Barbara, the correct spelling on that post was not my primary objective; instead, I was trying to express my opinion about the show. I am not sure you actually understood it??

Thanks again for your interest in my opinion. By the way, I fluently speak 3 foreign languages - how many do you speak?

I appreciate Daren, he is from Minnesota. I am not a avid gambler, never been to vegas watching him is awesome, just the way he spreads his wealth around. You don't see any of the professional gamblers doing what daren does!!!. Sharing the wealth, you see people that don't risk much but winning huge with Daren's help. I have learned alot, this man is just awesome i miss him please bring him back!!

This show was very interesting. The only question that I have (and I can not find it on the CMT website) is if any more than 8 episodes were ever made. If not, what happened to him? Well, just seeing if anyone else has any input on this.. Thanks

i am trying to find out more about what happend to daren..you see..i am a compulsive gambler and know that he is one too....i met him once at the wynn casino playing... i now do a twelve step program...i lost alot due to gambling i hope he has too..he seemed like a lost soul looking like me for something...
i would like to get ahold of him to do documentry on how gambling has taken alot of lifes...

Its not suprising that there are no more episodes,in fact I wouldent be suprised if he is dead,in jail,or gone insane.

Its amazing how much of the destructive nature of gambling is ignored for entertainment factor.......wow how enjoyable is it to lose everything you own?

I thought the show was pretty dumb. I just did a search for it though and found this site, I am having a Vegas jones and have been watching any old Vegas show I could think of so if its available I will watch it. However it did suck pretty bad. Daren was not an entertaining person at all, he seemed like a typical problem gambler, nothing colorful about him. Also his goal was to win $1 million or $3 million, I can\'t remember. But he hardly ever played any really big money. There were so many times when he was just playing a few hundred dollars a hand, I think the most he ever played was a few thousand on a hand and he was going crazy with that bet down. Even if he got on an extremely lucky streak he would never hit his goal so besides just being a problem gambler with no personality he was stupid too.

All you people are weird. You all can't spell, and obviously you all don't have anything better in life to do. Hopefully you can find the time to look at yourselves before you try to sound "smart" on here. Yes InTeLLY-gence can be measured by how you spell. Being knoledgeable and logical doesn't require the best written communication skills.

Who cares how many languages you speak, still won't help the fact that you're trying to critisize someone because you've been to vegas and "Everyone smoked." WHO CARES. It's better that they don't show that on TV. It's bad enough our kids learn about rapes, murders, and sex on TV, because there are so many bad parents out there who can't properly raise their children and what's on the TV does matter in that case.
